The Mitt mått campaign aims to raise a debate about wages and how people think work should be valued. The reason being that a new period of negotiations for a collective wage agreement will take place in Sweden during the next-coming year. Apart from the website, the campaign features radio and online advertising, events at local workplaces, and even a board game!
"SthlmConnection helped us to realize our ideas in a both creative and pro-active way. I’m very happy with the result, as well as the memory of a fun working process."- Molly Ränge, Project manager at The Story Lab
Interacting with the map
On the website, anybody can share their opinions and experiences of wage negotiations and how work is valued. The website has a Google map of Sweden for a background, which fills the browser's window completely. Overlaid on the map are blocks of content and links that lets you interact with the site. You can make a simple test which will show which of four criteria – experience, development, engagement or achievement – you value the most, or you can share your own story about a situation where you learnt something from a wage negotiation process. Each test result and story is added as a marker on the map depending on where the user lives, slowly creating a cluster of colorful dots on the map. There is also the possibility of commenting on other's test results or stories or to share your experiences from playing the campaign board game.
Another feature is the wage blog, where Almega publishes stories about wage and labour market politics in order to further encourage and provoke an active debate.
Lessons learned
The Story Lab are the brains behind the campaign and have provided most of the design while we were responsible for the development. Using Drupal for such a unique kind of project has given us a lot of insights. If you are interested in learning more, please continue reading in our Tips & Tweaks section, see links below.
